This role is focussed on customer training and technical support for embedded software development tools and software. This is primarily in the consumer market (set-top box) using both embedded Linux and real-time operating systems. The role also involves the marketing of the development tools to internal and external customers. My activities have included:- Developed and delivered training courses on development tools usage with Android-based set-top box software. - Responsible for the training & promotion of a new Eclipse based integrated development environment for embedded Linux & RTOS software development. - Created new training course on 3D graphics for FAEs and customers, which explained the fundamentals of 3D and how to analyse and improve the performance of applications running on the 3D graphics IPs in ST’s set-top box SoCs.- Provided first and second line technical support for embedded software development tools and set-top box software. - Training was delivered to internal and external customers at ST and customer locations in the UK, Europe, North Africa and Asia. Approximately 500 people trained in 12 different locations. Customers trained include BSkyB, Sagem, TMM, Echostar. Additionally ran courses remotely (phone/web) for nearly 200 people.- Generated marketing material for various products, including presentations, posters, flyers, intranet pages, webcasts and application notes for internal and external customers. - Managed the evaluation, specification and design of new customer facing technical support database.

Initially in graphics product division developing functional simulators of PC graphics products. Responsible for transform and lighting engine, as well as researching fast floating point arithmetic algorithms and tiled based rendering techniques. Subsequently recruited into advanced research division developin algorithms and architectures for embedded graphics processing based on OpenGL|ES. In addition to technical work was responsible for project management and source control for the project.

Graduate research scientist in advanced information processing team of BAE research centre, investigating multi-sensor data fusion and emergent behaviour.
