Portable is a purpose-driven digital design agency with a mission to address social need and policy gaps in the community using human-centred design and technology. We deliver technology and design-thinking informed solutions and innovation in the form of useful, accessible digital products and services which place the user experience at their centre. Since starting in 2006, we have delivered over 900 user research, digital and design projects focusing in areas of access to justice, mental health, public service, aging and health. I have been appointed as a Senior Honorary Fellow at both Melbourne Law School and Melbourne School of Government. My work includes lecturing at a Masters level in Legal Design and Innovation with Professor Gary Cazalet. My work within the School of Government is to bring together research and networks to create change and transformation in the sector. The first project includes working on highlighting Wage Theft, which ties into the access to justice / RegTech work that Portable delivers. As a Fellow, I'm committed to bringing the lens of social need and policy transformation using technology and design that I work with at Portable to enhance the networks and impact of the University.

The Webbys, coordinated by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, is the Oscars for online. It showcases the best in the web globally. Since becoming ambassador, the number of Australian companies involved in the awards has risen by over 70%, now making Australia the third biggest market for the Webbys globally. Many Australian campaigns, including Dumb Ways to Die, have been award winners.

Newly Pty Ltd is the next big thing in recruitment for the Aged Care Sector. It is an online community for professional carers, where they can source jobs, advice and support. For employers it offers a searchable database to find the best quality carers for their organisations whether it is in residential or home care. It has built one of the largest databases for careers in Australia. In July 2017, Newly was acquired by Novita Healthcare (ASX: NHL).I have been involved as an Advisor from the outset including providing prototype development methodology and execution, market introductions, marketing (including helping to assist the process of recruiting carers) and business and digital strategy.

Svbscription is a personal shopping service aimed at helping modern consumers discover and access groundbreaking products, accessories, clothing, home goods and technology. Aided by a personal shopper, customers receive parcel in their home or office, where they can try on products, only paying for what they keep. It was launched in 2012 initially as a high end subscription offering, but saw the opportunity in 2014 to connect with customers through developing a personal shopping service.Based from our New York office it has been featured in Fast Company, the Los Angeles Times, TIME Magazine, and Esquire.

The Flexible Learning Advisory Group (FLAG) is an advisory group of the National Senior Officials Committee (NSOC). As the key policy advisory group on national directions and priorities for information and communication technologies (ICT) in the vocational education and training system (VET) and Adult and Community Education (ACE), it has oversight of the National VET E-learning Strategy 2012 - 2015.To support an innovative, flexible and responsive national training system, FLAG:* Oversights the implementation of the National E-learning Strategy* Advises NSOC on matters related to the national ICT infrastructure* Evaluates and advises on emerging technological opportunities* Facilitates access to e-learning products and practices* Advises and collaborates with the Australian ICT in Education Committee (AICTEC)I serve as one of two Industry Representatives.

I have served on the AIMIA board, the national peak body for digital for the past three years, two of which I was National President. I stood down from the President role in October 2012 but continue to contribute to this dynamic board.

I served as National President of AIMIA for over two years. This included leading a talented board of people in the technology space from across Australia. During this time, AIMIA contributed to providing policy and new initiatives in the group buying, social media and education space. I fostered strong relationships with government, being able to secure funding for initiatives coordinated by AIMIA throughout Australia.

AIMIA is the peak body for the multimedia and IT industry. Established in 1992, it has cemented its place as the organization to represent the industry to all levels of government and business. AIMIA Victoria is the state chapter of the Australian Interactive Media Industry. Our focus is on nurturing Victorian creative and entrepreneurial excellence, and in supporting interactive media practitioners, students, start-ups, businesses, initiatives and organisations in the state. Through this we hope to ensure economic growth in the Victorian interactive media industry. AIMIA Victoria also plays an important role as a conduit between the interactive media industry and other industries, business, media, education, government and the public.

MEGA is an Entrepreneurship Masterclass series which takes participants from the mobile, digital content and ICT industries through an industry-driven development program to build their creative, technical and business skills for the development of new products and services for global markets.Participants form project teams and, guided by industry experts, develop and pitch new products and services to investors, buyers and business identities at a high profile Pitch Day in each state

Simon worked as Business Development Manager of Diversitat, a large community organszation (110 staff and revenues in excess of $10 million) based in Geelong, Victoria. Over an 18 month period, Simon generated over $5 million in revenue for the organisation for long term and operational projects in media, training, migration and new enterprises.

The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) is the national peak body for community radio and television stations. We provide leadership, advocacy and support for our members to actively provide independent broadcasting services and to build and strengthen local communities.The CBAA strives to be a flexible, forward thinking, diverse, vibrant and effective representative organisation, focused on achieving the goal of developing strong communities through local, diverse and accessible broadcasting. We undertake activities such as membership advice, audio production, audience research, program and music distribution, database development and much more.As the national representative organisation for community broadcasters it is the aim of the CBAA to remain responsive by providing quality membership services and by maintaining strong communication with both our members and stakeholders. Our members are extremely diverse and have differing needs.CBAA members can include both fully licensed stations and groups aspiring to hold a permanent licence. At present the CBAA has over 270 member stations who are actively broadcasting nationwide.

Simon commenced his career at Student Youth Network, Australia's leading youth media organization. In 2001, he led the successful application for a full time Melbourne wide community broadcasting licence, commercially worth $70 million. Later, Simon established the successful SYN FM school training program which saw over 1500 students from 100 schools participate in the program.
