I am passionate about enhancing the quality of life for everyone through trauma-informed and attachment-aware practices. I have developed and delivered multiple evidence-based courses that focus on reducing restrictive practices and restraint and empowering staff members with the essential knowledge and skills to understand and support people effectively. We have a proven track record in significantly reducing restrictive practices and restraint #AimingForZero! Our latest case study shows an 80% decrease over 6 months. This is in frequency, duration and intensity.At +ProActive Approaches, we use a person-centred and trauma-informed model that is underpinned by a robust and practical understanding of the impact of trauma, attachment, and relational shame. We help staff to analyse and identify the potential causes of a person's response/distress/confusion/anxiety/frustration/anger (aka behaviour), and to develop appropriate support plans that lessen the likelihood of that reoccurring.
