Over 20 years of industrial R&D experience across a range of areas including physics, civil engineering, electronics, optical fibre sensors, structures and medical diagnostics.Managing Director of an award winning university spin-out, Sengenia Ltd (www.sengenia.com), providing fibre optic sensing solutions for a range of sectors from healthcare, pipeline monitoring, civil engineering, renewables, nuclear power etc. Proud to be a system integrator for Luna Innovations (previously via Micron Optics). Director - Research Services & Government Affairs with the Almac Group. Responsible for oversight of all grant and funding activity across the Almac Group portfolio, ranging from R&D&I through to capital projects and expansions. Additionally manage all Government, and related agencies, interactions on a Global basis for the Group. Visiting Scholar at Queen's University Belfast School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences.Formerly NI Horizon 2020 Manager working to manage and coordinate the activities in Northern Ireland related to the Horizon 2020 funding programme. Also EU Policy Manager for InterTradeIreland helping develop North/South collaborations going into the EU research funding mechanisms.
