Simon works in collaboration with cross-functional teams to proactively highlight, prioritise and resolve critical customer issues, as well as provide insight for product development based on customer feedback and communication.Committed to developing and maintaining technical documentation, Simon is working to establish an extensive Knowledge Base to enable self-serving support, empowering both internal teams and customers with the appropriate resources, leading to improved support efficiency.Prior to this Simon was a Senior Consultant with >6 years’ experience in GIS consultancy, working on GIS and Information Management projects, as well as supporting the wider Environmental Discipline teams across the business.Simon has taken on the lead GIS role on multiple large-scale Development Consent Order (DCO) projects, supporting multi-disciplinary teams through the stages of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). In these roles, Simon acted as the data manager, building strong relationships with the internal Project Management Teams as well as directly with subconsultants and clients. Within this role Simon has designed bespoke Technical Operating Procedure documentation for data standards and management on projects, for wider Supply Chain use, on behalf of the client. Simon led field data capture across the UK for Wood, coordinating a team of ~100 users, utilising ArcGIS Online, ESRI Collector and Survey 123 on national and international projects. Simon has developed innovative methodologies for problem solving, utilising Python and FME, automating processing and data analysis. As well as create web map solutions utilising ESRI ArcGIS Portal, enabling teams to dynamically interact with spatial data in an accessible format. Simon is well versed in a range of GIS packages, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro and QGIS. Simon has designed and delivered QGIS training courses to clients, supporting the uptake of a PostgresQL database, which Simon supported developing and establishing with the client.
