Believed to be the UK's first Data Privacy Officer - appointed by IBM in 2007 - I've spent the last seventeen years in DPO and consulting roles with IBM, KPMG, Asda-Walmart and, latterly, a number of SMEs, including CPOMS (Safeguarding SaaS), BlueLight Commercial (Police Procurement) and ai.io (Scouting app). I have been implementing, using, designing and building Privacy Management software solutions for much of that time. The scope and variety of these roles has given me unparalleled experience in data protection management, both domestic and international. I know how to get Privacy right because I've learnt – sometimes the hard way – what works and what doesn’t.I've developed APIMS (Privacy Management Software) to simplify and cut the cost of GDPR compliance and cyber risk management for SMEs, schools and charities.
