I am the Super Practice Leader which was specifically established for the cohort of students of the Interior Design MA Programme at the Kensington campus, covering all three platforms; superMATTER, superREUSE, and superFUTURES. It is required and assessed against specific learning outcomes. An Interior Design consultancy in central London, designing for private residential and commercial projects.In my role as Design Director, I was responsible for the curation and delivery of a range of residential and commercial projects. We worked closely with architects, developers, and individual clients from the initial concept and planning stages, through to completion and final client handover.

Interior Educators (IE) is an organisation established by academics representing well-established Interior design / interior architecture courses from across the UK. It is a unique group in that it provides a forum for debate and the exchange of ideas and practice affecting the education of designers of interior space. It is currently the only relevant and influential mouthpiece for interior education and educators in the UK.

An ambassador for a new Award by Cockpit Arts aimed at opening up opportunities and building greater diversity in the craft world for a new generation of talented craftspeople. The Award invites creative, early-career makers to take up the opportunity of a three- year programme that includes a funded studio space at Cockpit Arts, financial and practical support, as well as guidance and mentoring provided by both organisations. The Award will fund three craft makers over the next six years who demonstrate excellence in their work across furniture, lighting, artworks or other objects for interior settings.

I was invited to join the Dezeen Awards 2021 judging panel of the Sustainability Categories and look forward to assessing the entries with Head of Panel Katie Treggiden.

As a key member of the Elle Education Faculty, I had two roles, as Collaborator and Course Lecturer. I brought my extensive experience of working as an Interior Designer in the UK and Europe and lecturing expertise to the online Interior Design Diploma Course. I introduced a selection of 8 trusted and experienced interior design colleagues and educators to join the faculty and deliver the course online.As Lecturer for the course my tasks included:- Setting project assignments- Recording teaching modules of 60 and 90 minutes using zoom, on a variety of subjects including: Interior Design history, Colour Theory, Drawing Techniques and Furniture Design amongst others.- Reviewing student projects and giving feedback, support and practical advice.As Collaborator for the course my tasks included:- Responded to emails and online campus messages- Corrected the practical exercises and sent marks and personalized summaries.- Responding to students’ comments and post articles of interests and resources- Preparation of compulsory and voluntary practical exercises, in addition to the co-ordination of multiple-choice tests.- Preparation of webinars for responding to student enquiries and questions.- Reviewed and corrected the students’ notes.- Reviewed the documentation provided to the students.

With an enviable track record of innovation and sustainability since the mid-1990s, Interface is known for its leadership in designing and manufacturing outstanding products based on nature with the aim of making the least impact on the environment. I joined Interface as Customer Experience Manager with responsibility for the London showroom in Clerkenwell. My role involved supporting the Sales and Marketing teams to develop the Interface brand within the Architecture & Design industry.• Curation of showroom events increasing footfall by over 300% with a programme of events for the A & D community which included: • Installation and organization of a 3-month exhibition of the work of Architect, Author and Lecturer Michael Pawlyn of Exploration Architecture. Delivery of an extensive Biophilia and Biomimicry focused seminar series for invited guests.• Organisation and delivery of several Sustainability talks and panel discussions by Interior Designer Oliver Heath; Regular Client Lunch & Learn CPDs; A Wellness Seminar focusing on the impact of diet, nutrition and exercise with guest speakers and attendee giveaways; Textile design workshops; Numerous student group tours; Launch party for Design Exchange Magazine; Interface product collection launches for the designer David Oakey.• A pivotal figure in the organization of Interface Europe’s participation in events for Clerkenwell Design Week 2016 and The London Design Festival 2016.

After gaining substantial experience working within the interiors sector, I set up my own consultancy Simon Hamilton Interior Design, offering clients in the commercial and residential markets bespoke contemporary interior design. Projects include: Fit-out of London Vision Clinic's new headquarters at 138 Harley Street, London; Restaurant refurbishments for Pizza Express, Soho and Shoreditch, London; Concept to completion design in collaboration with Daruma Design, of '947 Rooms' - a 5 Star boutique hotel in Venice, Italy; Phased concept to completion design of 6,000 sq. ft. property - Maison La Roque, France - Holiday Home; Other work for Kensington Roof Gardens, The Salad Factory, Coast Radio, and several private residential clients.Restructured the company to become Simon Hamilton & Associates Ltd. in 2010, attracting new business across all sectors including Workplace, Hospitality, Leisure, Retail, Residential, Healthcare, Design & Build and Marine. Through close creative and financial management of all projects, I delivered these under budget whilst adhering to strict timescales. Responsible for all aspects of the business from concept creation, project development to handover and all the stages to final handover.

Awarded a fixed term contract. Implemented a growth strategy plan which dramatically cut the recruitment process and made it more efficient and effective.

I had a key role in the success of the Interior Design and Architecture recruitment division from my industry contacts, extensive design knowledge and hands-on experience in the field. Some of the new clients introduced included: Wolff Olins, Imagination, Carte Blanche, John Ryan, Tilney Shane, TP Bennett and 20/20.I joined Adrem Group as a consultant utilizing my experience as an interior designer and recruited for Offices, Hotels, Hospitality for roles including Interior Designers, Directors, Architects, Space Planners, F, F & Designers and Project Managers.

Short-term contracts for practices:Swanke Hayden Connell, RPA Europe, MCM Architects, Pringle Brandon, and Design International. Awarded independent clients through new business development for retail, exhibition, residential and office projects including charities E.C.R.E., Shelter and The Refugee Council.

Worked within the Interior Design Department of this large and respected architectural practice and enjoyed a variety of large corporate office projects. Worked on a variety of office fit-out projects including British Telecom, Mobil Oil and Axis House. Selected for the site based design team for the Thames House refurbishment.

Designed several commercial office fit-outs for corporate clients including Gillette and Mercury Communications.
