Simon is currently an Associate in the Valuation and Counterparty Oversight team (VACO) at IFM Investors. This team is responsible for the valuation, counterparty and best execution governance at IFM. Prior to IREO transfer, he worked in the TMS (Transaction Management Support) team for just over two years upon arriving back in Melbourne in 2019.In early 2018, he worked at AllianceBernstein (AB) New York in the Index Strategies PMG-NY team as an Associate Portfolio Manager (APM).As an APM, he is responsible for supporting AB’s Index Strategy investment team with monitoring of client investment portfolios and implementation of portfolio strategies. This requires an in-depth knowledge of the client portfolios as the role involves portfolio positioning, currency and equity trade initiation, cash management and ensuring the portfolios meet compliance guidelines.From 2010 to 2017, Simon worked at AB Bernstein Hong Kong as a Middle Office Analyst; Here he was the second operational hire for the Bernstein Asian equity business. In that time, he facilitated exponential trade flows growth, while also being a key part of the roll-out of trading across more markets; Most critically the on-exchange trading on the Shanghai/Shenzhen-Hong Kong Connect. He was a point person for client servicing, trade booking and supporting offshore development, whilst also devoting time to enhance operational processes.Prior to Bernstein, Simon was employed at the AB office in Melbourne in a Middle Office and Settlement role spanning four years. Over the time he spent in Middle Office, he supported many asset classes, including Equities, Futures, Fixed Income, Swaps, CDSs and FX's. Whilst in settlements he was a key member of the Asian equity settlements team, that supported the Sydney and Hong Kong equity trading desks.
