In March 2022, Simon Kalolo was voted on to the Board of Directors of the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety at their 7th Global Meeting in Budapest, Hungary.Simon works as a Tanzania country manager for an international road safety NGO called Amend. He joined Amend in 2012 and is currently based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Simon is involved in overseeing overall country office operations in Tanzania and implementation of Amend’s road safety programmes in Africa. Also, Simon is a trained road safety advocate with experience in facilitating workshops at global road safety events.His other previous work included implementation of safe infrastructure around schools in Botswana, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Senegal, Tanzania, and Zambia. And as a leading principal investigator for the Traffic Conflict Analysis study around schools in Ghana.He has delivered road safety training to NGOs and local governments authorities in Kingston, Jamaica and Casablanca, Morocco.Simon is currently managing phase II of the Total Foundation's motorcycle taxi riders training in Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Madagascar, and Mozambique and follow-up in Phase 1 countries (Senegal, Tanzania, and Togo).
