With a keen eye for contextual and sustainable design, enthusiasm for technology, and a desire to create a new type of architectural practice, Simon set up Nash Baker Architects in 2006. His skill in helping clients refine and test their design briefs has led to a broad range of successful projects; ranging from modest yet inventive extensions, bespoke new build eco-homes, through to multi-million pound renovations. Simon leads what he fondly refers to as a ‘modern traditional’ practice; giving clients the reassurance of a professional and robust practice, but with unexpected levels of innovation and creativity – which ensures each project is as unique as the client. His open approach to design ensures that clients are heard, and he offers steady and consistent guidance and communication from the first phone call, through to the final handover. He is passionate about working with both new and historic architecture, and is highly adept in creating elegant simplicity from chaos. With many years experience of working in RKBC, Westminster and Camden, Simon revels in the challenges and complexities that central London projects offer.Simon studied Architecture at the University of Bath (BSc) and University of Edinburgh (MArch); during which he also studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Architecture, Copenhagen and Chaing Mai University, Thailand. He later undertook studies in Building Conservation at the Architectural Association.
