I designed and delivered scalable and robust Java applications, with major customers in the Healthcare sector.• For pharmacies in the CFH Electronic Prescription Service programme, I designed and led the development of Spinal Tap, integration middleware which now provides connectivity for at least 75% of England’s pharmacies. Implemented with Java 6, Hibernate 3, Struts 2, Tomcat, JBoss, Oracle 10g, SQL Server 2005 and DB2 8.• I designed and led the development for an ebXML message handling service, fully implementing the Oasis ebXML v2 specification. Implemented with Java 6, Hibernate 3, Tomcat and Oracle 10g.• To win business for the company I provide technical pre-sales support through customer presentations, requirements gathering exercises and written design documents. This has led to contracts with customers such as Boots Alliance, Cegedim, IMS, and Northgate.

Provided on-site consultancy advising on multi-million pound hardware architectures, using my software knowledge to ensure the proposed infrastructure met the Orange teams' needs.

Provided software and architecture advice, as well as software and software architecture audits.• I was a member of Sky’s Technical Design Authority which successfully designed and implemented a robust and scalable architecture for their new CRM system.• I advised Avon on their clustered WASv4 architecture to allow them to successfully rollout into China.• I isolated a massive resource leak in Orange’s online games framework, solving performance problems being experienced by their third-party game suppliers.• I re-wrote StepStone’s daily email job, reducing the run-time from 27 hours to 3 hours.
