KaeK Bikes was founded in early 2012 after a shared passion for bikes and good design lead Simon Laumet and James Quayle to research into the dynamics of bicycle frames. Aiming to inject a sense of automotive, aesthetically pleasing and well-engineered design sensibility into the humble, well-known double triangle frame, they set up KaeK to design bikes that that look as good as they ride.

JONES & BOWEN was founded in 2006 by Darren Jones and Jonathan Bowen. We operate from London and work internationally for a wide range of clients. Our experience in a wide range of industries has given us a well-rounded and more informed design capability. We have a deep understanding of the full creative process from creation of a brand, design of the product to the development into manufacture.

I was a part of a team of 6 students who worked with eXtreme Ribs and TU Delft to help develop a new type of 12m pilot boat for use in Port Said. The boat is now in production. Students also undertook a more conceptual side project looking at how eXtreme ribs could widen its target market to include high end luxury yacht tenders without changing their current hull designs.

Land Rover “Pioneer EV” project: A project looking at how Land Rover could rebrand itself as clean, young and fun in order to appeal to the new generation. I worked in a team of 4 international students to produce a fully resolved design proposal accompanied by a ¼ scale clay model and an animation of the design.
