Simon founded Simon Leach Design in 2011 following 20 years experience as a design consultant in the museum and heritage sector. The company brings together experienced specialists in exhibition design, interpretation, graphic design, audio/visual design, education and activity planning. The company specialise in designing and developing creative and meaningful ideas for cultural heritage and museum interpretation. We lead creative teams to interpret collections, create exhibitions, plan community activities and help organisations engage better with their visitors and audiences.We have a proven track record working collaboratively in multi-disciplined teams of architects, curators, archivists, artists, conservators, writers and activity planners. We work with many of our clients over long periods of time (years not months), from initial concept planning through to completion. Sometimes our client teams comprise one or two people, sometimes there are multiple in-house specialist departments. Our approach adapts for the situation but common to all is that we always start with the content – with the stories to be told and the objects, assets or people that help tell them.We have worked successfully with many different organisations including the V&A South Kensington and V&A Museum of Childhood, The Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, Ulster Museum in Belfast, National Maritime Museum, The National Archives, Ely Museum, Science Museum Group, St Mary Magdalene’s Church in Paddington, Southwell Minster, The British Library and Museum of Oxford.
