No matter the challenge, I believe that the key to success with any task/project/strategy lies in clarity/simplicity, understanding the fundamentals, picking the right people/technology, and empowering teams to deliver results.Having practiced many DevOps principles before the term came to be, I believe that engineers need operational experience to be great developers; conversely, engineers with development experience and understanding the code running in production have an operational advantage.With a background in science, I prefer to make decisions and improvements based on evidence, but will make calls based on experience if required by the situation. As a former partner in a business, I have a strong customer-centric approach to software and what really matters to me is what users experience in production.
