I wasn’t always the person who speaks up, shares ideas, or stands out. Early in my career, I was the one quietly doing the work, with potential but little visibility. My technical skills were solid, but no one really knew what I could bring to the table. When I did get noticed, it was often for not communicating enough, which left me feeling like I was stuck.That all began to change when I joined the John Curtin Leadership Program at Curtin University. Surrounded by top students and industry leaders, I was pushed out of my comfort zone in a way that felt safe but challenging. It was a turning point. I learned that leadership is about showing up authentically, pushing boundaries, and continually evolving. I also realised how crucial it is to have the right mentors, and I was lucky enough to have several — from senior executives from public companies to influential figures in Rotary.Now, I’m focused on growth — not just my own, but helping others find their path too. I’ve learned to recognise what works, discard what doesn’t, and lean into strategies that drive results.
