We believed that profit was an outcome that you earned, and shouldn’t be the main goal. It was about having the discipline of marketing across the organisation, and less about the function of marketing. We think this is more true today than it’s ever been, and has got harder and more complicated. Commercial leaders are under more pressure than ever to deliver profitable growth. But many have forgotten that this is an outcome delivered first, foremost and fundamentally by people. Too many are paying lip service to helping their people thrive. We partner with companies like Unilever, Heineken, GSK, Sanofi, Vodafone and Met Life to do this, and help develop beautifully simple solutions to complex commercial problems.Moving from P&G to consulting was a huge step for me but driven by a desire to make a real difference to companies and people across a whole variety of challenges. As the pace of change and demands get harder, companies need to put people – customers AND employees – properly front and centre for profitable growth.
