Park and Ride Scheme – Project 2040Appointed Project Technician on a secondment to the NTA from CSEA to enable the delivery of key Park & Ride sites by the NTA in collaboration with Local Authorities, Irish Rail and transport agencies within the GDA (Greater Dublin Area), around regional cities and more rural parts of Ireland.I am responsible for the production and delivery of high quality drawings to enhance connectivity, provide better quality public transport infrastructure and services to meet demand for existing and future public transport hubs nationwide. I have delivered high level concept plans for various potential P&R sites throughout the country, a planning submission for Fassaroe (Bray) P&R facility and submitted plans from concept through to construction for upgrade works to Ballybrophy Train Station. I have also carried out Land Registry and Folio Searches, analysed traffic data (select link analysis) using ARCMAP and producing maps outlining said data for various potential sites nationwide.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, County Dublin, Ireland

Dodder Greenway, South Dublin County Council (SDCC)Technician responsible for the production of drawings in accordance with national standards. The overriding purpose of the scheme was the delivery of high-quality, safe infrastructure for cyclists and pedestrians. The design consisted of a 12km Greenway that commenced in Bohernabreena, Kiltipper, Dublin 24 and travelled by the Dodder River to Orwell Park, Rathfarnham, Dublin 6. The works involved working with topographical surveys to widen existing paths where possible to create shared surfacing, the construction of new shared paths for pedestrians and cyclists, road markings and signage.I was responsible for the design and drafting of all planning and tender drawings, including the design of paths, road signage, surface treatment, site clearance, kerbing and all associated services using software such as Civil 3D & Autocad.Fyffes Banana Reopening and Distribution CentreThe development consisted of the following elements:* Demolition of the existing derelict buildings and removal of vegetation currently located on the site to facilitate the construction of the proposed development.* Construction of an access road (300m in total length)* Junction treatment works with the R132* Pedestrian facilities* Surface water and foul drainage* Water main infrastructure* Flood attenuation basin.

I joined DBFL Consulting Engineers as a Senior Civil Engineering Technician in October 2016, following a year of global travel. My main role is to support management with the required technical assistance to solve technical matters associated with projects, while continuously meeting deadlines in a high pressure working environment. Major projects worked on include the following:Clay Farm, Dublin- Taking a lead role and assisting Civil Engineers in the planning, design and drafting of all roads & engineering services in Phase 2 of a development comprising of 927 residential units (365 houses and 562 no.apartments), childcare facility, 2 retail units and associated section of the through road (Clay Farm Loop Road), linking Phase 1 to Phase 2 to Cruagh Wood.St.Josephs, Grace Park Road, Dublin- Drafting of civil services for a residential development comprising of 166 units (houses and apartments) and a creche, an access road from Grace Park Road, external parking areas and open space throughout the site.

Auckland, New Zealand

I worked closely alongside HG’s sports & leisure manager and won a major sports & leisure project which was a landmark achievement for the company’s fast growing division. The project involved designing and managing works for approximately 30 different public walking and cycleway routes through West Auckland, as well as car-park upgrades where necessary. I designed concept and detailed plans for car park upgrades, public path alignments and utility services following on-site investigations and some land surveying where required. The site investigations included the preparation of reports of the findings and delivery to the project manager. Designs included all aspects associated with production of plans including, concept design, detail design, public and stakeholder consultation and liaison with local authorities. I also helped produce contract documentation and was heavily involved in the tendering stage, which included writing up specifications and schedules.

Bendigo, Australia

I joined Tomkinson Group in December 2010 and took on a lead role as Project Manager for various schemes in Victoria, Australia over a 2.5 year period. Each scheme typically entailed taking jobs from feasibility stage preparing concept plans, detailed plans & drafting, as well overseeing the tender and construction phases and regular local authority liaison throughout. These projects inculuded road improvement schemes, drainage & sewer network systems and water services within various developments ranging from 3-200 lot subdivisions.

Kilgallen & Partners is a medium sized consulting engineering practice and operates from 2 offices in Portlaoise and Kilkenny. Over the course of nearly 5 years, I have developed a wide range of skills primarily in design using Autocad Civil 3D & Surveying and have spent this time working as part of a design team on various projects. I have also spent a good deal of time on site where I was the companys primary Land Surveyor. Overall I developed a wide range of experience in the design, planning and construction of infrastructural, residential and commercial developments.
