• Senior developer in the Web Filter team performing bug fixes and implementing enhancements to the product. The software is developed mainly in Microsoft Visual C++ communicating with Microsoft SQL Server databases and the UI is mainly written in C#.• Extensive work on the WDM driver within the product, an area demanding high performance and reliability due to its critical position within the product.• Performed the role of lead developer in the production of a new ICAP version of the Web Filter product allowing SurfControl to become partners with both Cisco and Juniper. The successful completion of this project allowed SurfControl to become partners with both Cisco and Juniper, an accomplishment that the company had been coveting for a while.• Supported both the sales and support departments in order to win bids and to maintain existing customers.

Worked as a developer on a delivery team, providing telecommunication companies with mediation solutions for their communication networks. These projects were based around Tertio’s ‘Evident’ mediation product, writing customised agents to communicate between the core code, telecommunication switches and billing engines. The agents were written mainly in C++ on unix platforms (Solaris and HP-UX), developing API’s, which were called via tcl scripts - C was also used on projects involving older versions of the core product. I was involved in the development, testing, installation and support phases of the projects. The testing, installation and support phases of the projects required the use of Oracle (both Sqlplus and PL/SQL).
