I relocated to live in Hong Kong, but split my time between there and London to mirror the client's own leadership. I served as a member of the IBM UK and IBM China senior leadership teams.During my tenure on HSBC, I achieved: • year-on-year growth in revenue, and expanded gross profit• improved customer engagement and satisfaction including a relationship governance framework that includes CEO annual summits• re-positioning of IBM as a partner (including as one of the preferred suppliers of application management services globally)• signing a global software licensing framework contract providing commercial and financial flexibility, including incentives for rationalizing onto IBM software products• successful defence of IBM’s position as the largest supplier of hardware and software to the bank• greatly expanded IBM consulting footprint and wallet share.The client in turn achieved, for the first time:• globally standardized contracts for hardware maintenance and for consulting services• a world's-best global technical support team dedicated to HSBC and embedded in their global data centers• a new global reference architecture to guide evolution of their infrastructure, applications, data and business process stack• more value-add from the whole range of IBM innovation, consulting insight, globally integrated applications services, hardware (especially mainframe) refresh cycles predictability.
