Co-created the UW Executive Recruiting Specialization taught to remote students at the University of Washington Professional & Continuing Education program. In 12 weekly modules, students learn the fundamentals of hiring leaders and executives into organizations, drawing on the experience of senior professionals from the executive recruiting and corporate leadership recruiting world.

Led the largest experienced Staffing group at Microsoft, with responsibility for all industry staffing globally, as well as broad ‘matrix’ oversight for university and executive hiring. This overall team hired the world’s best minds for Office, Skype, Bing/MSN, and Yammer, which collectively constituted Microsoft’s largest Engineering Group - ASG. Successfully managed the merger of four previously independent Staffing groups into a large group of 120 professionals, subsequently reducing operating costs by a third while maintaining the highest quality of delivery, and retaining our top Staffing talent. Evolved a new strategic staffing model to help take the business to the next level. Drove innovative methodologies to increase the proportion of hires from our top competitors and PhD programs, and successfully focused the intensity of our hiring into the business’ highest impact, critical talent gaps (including Diversity), while maintaining the necessary volume of 'regular' hiring. Received multiple commendations from the head of the business and our HR leader, as well as my team, over my tenure.

Was responsible for all global industry staffing for the high-growth, fast-paced Online Services Division (mostly known for the Bing and MSN brands), which was a critical part of the transformation of Microsoft. Managed a team of ~55, with broader indirect oversight of university, executive and non-US hiring for the division. Merged this team into a larger ASG Staffing group of 120, which I was asked to lead – see subsequent role.

Responsible for the team that ran Executive Recruiting at Microsoft Headquarters on behalf of the CEO and Senior Leadership Team. Also worked as executive recruiter on projects directly for the CEO and the Board, working on external succession planning and hiring for the most senior roles at the company, including the CEO succession project (mostly not using search firms). The team hired the most senior executives and Board members of Microsoft, plus instituted innovative programs such as an External Succession Planning program, which was completely integrated into the company's Annual Executive People Review rhythm, in partnership with the central Talent Management group. Managed the most senior individual contributors in the recruiting function at Microsoft, including Program Managers, Researchers, and senior Client Consultants. This group was, and still is, widely regarded as a benchmark for the Executive Recruiting function by other members of the Fortune 100.

Responsible for ensuring that my clients hired the best external talent for their teams at the leadership level (the top 1% of the company), through working on both open requisitions as well as with opportunistic candidates. My hiring managers/clients included the CEO & some of his direct reports, as well as a number of Corporate Vice Presidents and General Managers across the company

Led high-profile recruiting projects, including various CXO and Board Searches, for both multi-billion dollar corporations as well as VC firms and their portfolio companies.

Spent two years in Hong Kong managing & executing mid to senior-level executive searches across Asia Pacific for a variety of local & multinational companies.

Worked in contract technical recruiting in London for two of the leading companies in that space.
