In my healthcare clinics, I encounter people every day who want to feel better, live pain-free, and stay more active as they age; however, they’re often unsure about how to approach their care. Should they take medication, have surgery, or see multiple specialists? Isn’t that what you do to stay “healthy?” This is especially true of people aged 50 and older, for whom aches, pains, and joint problems start becoming a daily (and unsettling) reality. All too often, they fear making the wrong decision about how to get and stay well—and live their life feeling run down or in pain, taking medications that mask the underlying issues, looking into invasive procedures, and worrying about how they’re going to keep up the energy to enjoy life to the fullest.As the director of Focus Osteopathy, my mission is to remove that fear of making the wrong decision and rather, help people see that they have positive options about their health care that go beyond that quick fix . . . a holistic approach to health and healing that help our clients improve their mobility, relieve pain and stress, maintain a healthy weight, and achieve optimal wellness. I take great pride in our personal approach to health care and in the way we treat each and every one of our clients. I want every person in our care to feel confident and relaxed, knowing they’ve chosen a team of practitioners who will listen to and address their concerns, explain how osteopathy and other complementary modalities work together, and design a treatment plan that will help them avoid unnecessary procedures and constant trips to the GP’s office Our goal is to help our clients achieve their full potential for a more vibrant life—helping them to make the right choice for their health care that will help them live a life of long-term, optimal health.
