Simonne is the Executive Leader - Clients + Brands for Tonkin + Taylor Group. As a member of the T+T Group Leadership Team she is responsible for focusing all group business on client outcomes. It is a strategic role that develops and implements client and market strategies with our Sector Directors, Client Managers and all staff. The role has accountability for T+T’s performance for its clients and was expanded in April 2021 to include Brand Development across the Group.Simonne has over thirty years’ experience in the planning, design and construction of civil and environmental projects in the United Kingdom, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. She joined Tonkin + Taylor in 2005 having spent six years in England and nine years in Hong Kong the last seven years of which as the Landfill Engineering Manager for an international solid waste management contractor.Simonne specializes in all aspects of solid waste minimisation and residual management including planning, design, implementation, rehabilitation and aftercare. Simonne is a recognized expert in waste minimisation options, landfill design, leachate management and treatment, risk management, alternative energy solutions, landfill gas management and landfill closure and capping design and has led projects for ADB and a range of International and local public and private sector clients.Simonne is currently the Deputy Chair of the Accreditation Council, the Chair of the University of Auckland Engineering School Faculty Advisory Board and a member of the Chartered Professional Engineers Council.Simonne was a multi term Board member and is a life Member of WasteMINZ. She was the Chair of the Waste Technical Advisory Group appointed by the New Zealand Government for the implementation of the Emission Trading Scheme for the Waste Sector and provided technical assistance to the Ministry for the Environment for the drafting of the resulting Regulations, together with providing expert opinion on the development of the New Zealand Green House Gas Inventory.
