Simon is a social and tech entrepreneur. After 10 years as an insurance technician, Simon completed an executive MBA and joined a consulting team, providing M&A strategy to various players throughout the insurance value chain, across the US, UK and Australia. Simon then entered the tech startup world and ultimately launched an Insurtech into the Australian market. Simon’s insurtech was established to help insurance distributors realise the power of data and in-turn improve operational efficiencies and portfolio performance. After experiencing the challenges of founding an insurtech, Simon helped create and build Insurtech Australia, the peak body responsible for nurturing Australia's insurtech ecosystem. Simon now heads up Insurtech Gateway Australia, building further on the principle of enabling Australia's entrepreneurs. Insurtech Gateway was established in 2017 in London and has become one of the worlds most effective insurtech investors and incubators. Gateway provides early stage insurtech founders with regulatory permissions, insurance paper, capital and a team of experts to help founders get an idea in the market, build-measure-learn, find product-market-fit and scale. Insurtech Gateway Australia was launched in mid 2019.
