Working with small businesses helping them to scale, professionalize their finance functions and working with management teams on strategy including fund raising. Key clients helped were Healios Limited and Datapharm Limited in the tech-enabled healthcare and tech sectors.

Healios Limited, a disruptive Health Tech company on the forefront of offering digital mental health treatments and assessments to the NHS in the UK & US. The company is backed by a combination of HNW individuals and venture capital firms and has built a unique digital mental health offering for children and young people. During my time I have overseen the preparation of first financial statements, implemented the first MI, developed cash flow forecasting and built out a finance team from scratch, successfully claimed multiple R&D credits (£1m+) and worked with the CEO & SLT. Since 2019 we have secured £29m+ in funding from emergency funding using a CLN (£2m) in 2019, our series A (£7m) in Feb 2021, £4m venture debt facility & £10m CLN in 2022 & a further £7m in bridge funding in 2023. Headcount at peak was 600.

Responsible for commercial teams and operations in USA, MEA, Central America and South America. Working with the commercial teams to drive sales, focus on profitable activities and ultimately create shareholder value. As a regulated business (MHRA/FDA/DEA) all operational issues impacting licensure came under my remit along with the interface with global IT. Management and development of high performance teams based in multiple jurisdictions through implementation of incentive schemes and goal setting. Taking ultimate responsibility for corporate goverance and working with the senior team, the Board and the founder to develop and implement group strategy. Major successes included debt restructuring & overseeing the buy-out and exit of Venture Capital partners.

Masters Speciality Pharma a leading provider of Named Patients Services and Managed Access Programs for leading treatments to markets in South & Central America, Middle East and Asia.As a standalone CFO / Finance Director the key responsiblities were in the preparation of monthly management information packs, quarterly focasting and annual budgeting. Reporting and understanding the numbers was vital to be able to make the right decision in terms of cost control, resource allocation and risk mitigation. Team develpement was a key the business's success as we built a high performance finance function that was highy motivated and dedicated to the business. All banking and external audit responsiblity came under my remit and over the 7 years we delivered clean audit reports well within time limits. Working with external advisers we maximised tax advantages through short and long term tax planning. During my time I managed a debt resturcturing (£6.5m) which had multiple elements including invoicing financing. This was later extended into a further leverging of the business to fund a buy-out of the Private Equiy investor. The management of cashflow, foreign exposure and managing working capital were weekly and monthly challenges for the business and we deleveoped tools and processes to effectively model, qauntify and analysis the risks to assist in decision making. During this time we roled out the global ERP system to the various sites which enabled global visibility of operations and transactions.

Medeguide is a international doctor directory for connecting patients and doctors on-line. Taking advantage of the 'white space" around doctors on the web we set out to build a place and a platform where patients can find, compare, engage with and connect to the right doctor seemlessly across the globe; and a platform where medical doctors can engage and promote themselves to patients looking for them.

As Asia Pacific Finance Director I oversaw the finance stream of the Asia Pacific business reporting directly to the group CFO in London with a dotted line to the Regional MD of Asia Pacific based in Singapore. I managed 40 finance individuals, spread across 10 locations (including manufacturing), covering 14 countries and 25 statutory entities including Joint Ventures. The Division had revenues of £100m+, operating profit of £30m and working capital of 20% of sales.In addition to have P&L responsbilities the key part of the role was to ensure acurate reporting of numbers, intrepreation of these number and internal controls (corporate goverance) across the division. Be the lead on regional M&A work and work with local advisors on due diligene and valuations in conjunciton with regional teams. Take responsiblity for regioanl banking, tax and audit issues with our global partners which included transfer pricing schemes and remittance of cash back to Goup Treasury.

This role was to project manage a key Group restructuring project and to start projects to improve the growth and profitability of the Asia Pacific division (including M&A). The role encompassed defining the projects, bi-monthly reporting of progress, managing deliverables and the various project participants It also encompassed working on the US$37.5m purchase of the China Joint Venture and launching Durex condoms into the emerging market of Vietnam.

As local country Finance Director I oversaw the financial operations of both the major manufacturing factory for Durex condoms and a large Scholl retail footwear business in Thailand. The business had a combined workforce of 800 employees, sales of £25m; and I managed two finance teams of 12 people. In the manufactruring oepration the key controls were cost accounting, the development of standard costs and ultimately the reporting and understanding of manufacturing variances.

Undertaking operational reviews at Colgate subsidiaries in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. Managing teams of up to 6 auditors for reviews s taking between 3-4 weeks and presenting findings to the Corporate controllers function in New York.
