I've had an interesting career that has stretched from starting out in Concrete Labouring to having had my own Professional Academic Tuition business twelve years later. I count as my successes managing to revive a grade two child's faith in learning and rebuilt her confidence enough to see her attend two private schools and gain entry to Melbourne University.Similarly, it has been my determination to convince older students that they were bigger and better than any learning difficulties they faced, that has seen my career move into the Vocational and Higher Educational sectors. Something which has provided me the opportunity to witness two student successes within a Health Programs Faculty, who both struggled with the course content and motivation but who benefited greatly from having the material contextualised in terms they could understand.I've always felt that Education should do more than just fill ones head with knowledge and skills, it should also make you feel good about yourself and help you to see not just one path up ahead but multiple opportunities. It is a career that has always required: (a) A solid analysis and problem solving skills, (b) An ability to make decisions and plan strategically, (c) Excellent communication skills with a diverse range of stakeholders, (d) A willingness and ability to learn new things. My professional experience has only also been complimented and informed by my own personal life experiences, which have not always been positive but which enable me the ability to empathise with people who finds themselves walking a similar path to some that I have travelled along. I feel that this is a great asset to what I can bring to my career. and also that with all that my life presently encompasses that I have a lot to offer my current employers and any future employers.
