Next chapter coming up - writing this on 1 March 2024. Happy St Davids Day to my Welsh friends!Completed my GUGY (Grown-up Gap Year) yesterday and a year went by in a flash but also feels like a decade. I did learn a lot about myself - it wasn’t all just playing golf - and I’ll share over coming weeks. I’ve had many thoughts about ‘what next’ during my year off and the working plan for now the plan goes something like this….Angel Investing - started in 2017 and now have an interesting, diverse portfolio of 16 companies in 3 sectors -i) FinTech/InsurTech, partly with the Rebel syndicate (more to come on Rebel), ii) Sustainability iii) Health/MedTech - over the next few weeks I’ll share the stories behind the portfolio and why I’ve invested in them and what the future might hold for these businesses.I’ve still got a lot to learn about Angel investing but am enjoying the experience of working with early stage founders looking to grow and have an impact.NED/Consulting - will be working with companies to share the experiences and knowledge of going through the complete start-up journey from idea to exit. I’m always very conscious that every business journey is different and what worked before may not work again but there are some ideas, concepts and approaches that can apply regardless of business or sector.If you’ve got an exciting project that you think I could help with please just get in touch.
