Specific to my role as Head of Service for ICT I have developed a number of strategies including Information Systems, Telephony Communications, and Information Security which have all had specific outcomes that have been successfully implemented within given timescales. These strategies continue to be reviewed regularly and kept current to allow the Trust to continually improve. The most recent strategy that I have developed tackles Digital Inclusion issues that we may have, this strategy has impacted all stakeholders to the organisation. Tackling digital exclusion has since been highlighted as a key sub objective in our new 5 year plan (“Bridge the Digital Divide”) by the Trusts board. Within this strategy there are ambitious targets which will again put the Trust amongst the highest performing organisations in this area, and feature as good practise that other organisations will want to adopt to change their customers lives.I thrive on discovering and implementing new and exciting ways to change the way that organisations can offer services to its customers these impact on all types of customers these are internal, external or partnering organisations. I can evidence this from my attitude in pushing the ICT team to go further and develop in house software over the past 18 months, rather than purchasing “off the shelf” systems from suppliers. These developments have not only allowed the Trust to deliver great value by not needing to enter into external contracts from suppliers but also by enabling its staff to input to and empowering them to contribute to the specification for these systems, as it is them that thoroughly understand the needs of the customers or how these type of systems can help them provide an improved service. Two of these recent developments have been recognised nationally in awards.

For these 3 years I worked in IT and Communications management for a 3,000+ housing association in Staffordshire, over this time I developed my management and leadership skills seeing my career progress and responsibilities grow each year. I had daily contact with a number of different staff from the level of Chief Exceutive / Managing Director to Assistant and supported and worked with each and every one comfortably. In broad terms my role involved managing all aspects of IT hardware and software within a 100+ user base. I implemented and supported software such as Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, Terminal Services, Microsoft Office 2003 as well as extensive knowledge of MS SQL, Progress, Informix and Ingres databases. I had extensive experience of using this software across a mix of terminals, PC’s and servers, and was responsible for leading a hard working dedicated team which included IT support and project management staff. I took a dedicated approach to introducing improved efficiency’s and new cutting edge technologies to offer best value to any company he works for and was responsible for an annual budget in excess of £220,000.
