As the Commercial and Trading Director at Saga Media, I spearheaded the monetisation strategy for our online and offline owned and operated channels. My role was multifaceted, encompassing the leadership of a talented team of sales professionals, project managers, and data analysts. My primary focus was on maximising revenue through diverse streams including sponsorships, content solutions, affiliate marketing, programmatic advertising, and first-party display advertising. Collaborating closely with the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), I played a pivotal role in shaping the commercial strategy of our media business.One of my key accomplishments was driving the growth of our digital revenues from ground zero to a robust six-figure sum within a span of just 8 months. This rapid growth was a testament to the effectiveness of our tailored strategies and the remarkable engagement levels delivered to commercial partners. We not only achieved significant financial milestones over a short period of time but also established Saga Media as a premier destination for advertisers targeting the 50+ demographic.My tenure at Saga Media was marked by a commitment to innovation, strategic foresight, and a deep understanding of the media landscape, which together fuelled our commercial success.

I was responsible for Future's eCommerce trading operation, with a remit spanning over 70 domains, and more than 30 categories including retail, b2b and software & services. Ifluencing strategy and outcomes at each stage of the purcahse funnel;- Discovery - Category mapping, Seasonality, Audience aquisition, SEO, Direct and Social- Engagement - content optmisation, best practice, UX and page template development- Monitisaition - partner optimisation and commercial negoatiationFuture properties drive over 15.5m transactions and ~£900m in sales to affiliate patners each year. To operate at this scale requires robust data processing and management. My team are chiefly responsible for turning data into actionable insight, enabling our editorial and leadership teams to make informed decisions to maintain growth, and the best possible experiences for our global audiences.
