An executive-level Commercial and Procurement specialist with senior leadership experience in a diverse range of industries – both public and private sector. A track-record of transforming Procurement operations and managing them to deliver sustainable additional value for my stakeholders. In my more recent roles I have led large, often geographically-dispersed Supply Chain teams, with £ multi-million budgets. I have designed and implemented several large-scale transformation projects, often taking the Procurement function from an immature, process-heavy support activity to a strategic, commercially-driven operation. A few highlights:- I developed the commercial strategy for a 5-year, £3bn capital procurement programme for a utility business, which led to the establishment of the company's first 'alliancing' arrangement, in which I also led the supplier negotiations. - I established a rigorous supplier performance regime in a FTSE-250 business, reducing defects (by c.30%) and improving delivery performance (by c.15%) through a data-driven approach.- I managed critical supplier relationships (for a defence contractor) with several large blue-chip industrial conglomerates to drive collaboration, behavioural change, performance improvement and to ensure Board-level engagement. - I have contributed directly to business growth (by c.15% year-on-year) through the development of innovative supply chain solutions which balanced commercial risk and reward and led directly the winning of bids.- I have international experience gained from a number of roles in the aerosopace, construction and defence industries. I have managed European and global portfolios of high value, strategic commodities, including IT and telecoms. I build strong and productive relationships with stakeholders at all levels and have extensive experience of influencing and collaborating with Executive level colleagues.
