About Simon Ryder-Turner
After twenty years of corporate life in Sydney I am now residing in the beautiful Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. I am currently looking for a new role where I can utilise my skills in project management, business and IT management, procurement, compliance, organisational change and service delivery. In recent years my expertise has seen me assigned to deal with complex delivery problems and act as a combination of consultant and project manager.Personal success is important to me as it drives me to deliver the best result, but so is the opportunity to give back to the company that hires me. With limited resources I managed to deliver a number of very large projects. Significant interest in the Dexterra product by such houses as Fujitsu, Telstra, Mincom and UXC opened the door to a different approach and Dexterra Australia moved to a distribution model and the professional services team were transferred to a number of companies to provide in-house expertise and capability. My role changed to being one of an account manager for delivery and developing the product roadmap with large clients. The distribution model worked too well and Dexterra Australia was eventually phased out and under financial difficulty the parent company was bought by Antenna Software. The re-branded Dexterra products are still in service by the companies that I delivered to under the Dexterra banner. -

Senior Project Manager (Woolworths Account)Telstra Mar 2003 - May 2004Sydney, Nsw With Australia Wide Virtual Teams.As senior project manager for the Woolworths Transformation I delivered a complete data transformation to approximately 1500 sites Australia wide within an eighteen-month period. The Transformation Project was worth an estimated $60 million in capex and in excess of $12 million in operational revenue. The project was considered to be ‘at risk’ when I was appointed - seven months behind schedule with no project agreements in place with the customer. I was able to turn this around within five weeks and within ten weeks of my appointment the first services were being rolled out. I successfully negotiated dedicated resources in a shared services environment and established new delivery mechanisms/processes to ensure quantity of targets were met.
