It is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team whose role is to contract management and directly influence social procurement with disability enterprises to maximise job opportunities for people with a disability. https://buyability.org.au/business/This role builds on my 16 years senior management experience in State Government to develop and implement labour market programs and implement social procurement and enterprise strategies to generate job & training opportunities for disadvantaged Victorians. This service aims to increase employment opportunities for people with disability through the promotion, connection and management of socially responsible procurement opportunities for Disability Enterprises with public and private sector buyers. There are over 170 Disability Enterprises with more than 600 locations across Australia offering an array of quality products and services employing over 20,500 people with disability (supported employees), which is expected to quadruple with the full roll out of the NDIS. To date Buyability has secured over $33M in contracts and engaged over 60 Disability Enterprises and over 1500 supported employees. NDS is now expanding this successful approach nationally, with a team of business managers whose role is to provide Buyability contract management services. I am looking forward to working with the team to build and develop the reach of BuyAbility Procurement as a critical and effective approach to maximise social procurement opportunities for Disability Enterprises to deliver great social outcomes for people with disabilities.

The majority of these funds resource the effective training and support of young people to become work ready and to secure employment, with the balance for engaging film and multimedia industry professionals to design and build the prototype, including the core aspects of filming, game design and development. 20Squared involves 40 young people from Broadmeadows and Colac as co-creators in the design and development of the VRWE prototype. The young people developing the prototype will gain valuable work readiness skills to work in the disability services sector, while at the same time being involved in the creation a VRWE game that will provide insights and confidence for other young people to consider their options to work in this sector. In the second year (2017/18) the VRWE will be vigorously evaluated with 380 young people testing and playing it and assessing whether the VRWE was influential in whether or not they make a decision to work in the disability services sector including reasons for making this decision.
