About Simon Scriver

I'm the co-founder of Fundraising Everywhere. With my superlative business partner NB and our amazing team we provide tens of thousands of fundraisers around the world the training, tools, community and support to be happy and effective in their roles. We're an online community (built to be accessible and equitable) but you can also dip in to our in-person picnics, screenings and pizza parties on those days that you have enough spoons. Join us!I'm also a recovering fundraiser, coach/mentor, trainer, keynote speaker, podcast delighter and lovable imp. I love supporting and cheerleading and helping people achieve things that they've been fooled in to believing they're not capable of yet. I've been called "The Fundraiser's Fundraiser".Fundraising Magazine put me in its Top 20 Most Influential Fundraisers. I've also won Fundraising Ireland's 'Small Budget, Big Impact' and ‘Supplier Of The Year’ Awards, Eircom’s Start-up Award, and was a 2019 finalist of Charities Institute Ireland’s Communications Agency of the Year.I'm a TEDx speaker and have previously won the Toastmasters UK & Ireland International Speech Contest, representing in the world finals where I was disqualified for going over time by a few seconds. I have a Diploma in Fundraising and a Certificate in Fundraising, and I'm working towards my degree in Theology.I'm especially mindful of my mental health and try to be open and human about it without scaring you off. I'm woke but also fluent in old white man and experience clairsentience.I believe there's enough for everyone and we should act like it.

You and your fellow fundraiser will have to work together to raise the (make-believe) money and get out in the fastest time possible. This “escape room” is a physical adventure game in which players work together to solve a series of puzzles and riddles using clues, hints, and strategy to complete the objectives at hand. You’ll use logic, common sense and your existing knowledge while learning fundraising tips and tricks along the way.Yes…the worldwide Escape Room phenomenon has come to fundraising! Can you work together to beat the world’s only Fundraising Escape Room?

  • Rogare (The Fundraising Think Tank)
    Advisory Panel Member
Rogare (The Fundraising Think Tank) Aug 2016 - Feb 2020
Rogare (Latin for ‘to ask’) is the University of Plymouth Hartsook Centre for Sustainable Philanthropy’s fundraising think tank and the home of Critical Fundraising – the discipline of critically evaluating what fundraisers know, or think they know, about their profession. Our remit will be to explore under-researched and ‘under-thought’ areas of fundraising. One of our key aims is to generate new practical ideas by pulling together the academic and practitioner branches of the fundraising profession. The Advisory Panel (AP) is an important link between the think tank’s work and the practitioners who will use that work.
  • Makingconnections
    Board Member
    Makingconnections 2017 - 2019
Something as simple as a regular home visit can have a very positive impact on an older person's general health and well being. To achieve this, we connect volunteers to do weekly hour long visits. We match volunteers with the older person based in common interests. There is a magic here that we cannot pin down. Nor can we predict the full range of experiences you will gain by taking part, because the possibilities are limitless. All we can do is help you make the connection.

One in four people in Ireland experience sexual abuse. It might be you, someone you love, or someone you're friendly with. One In Four Ireland's work is about intervention in the cycle of abuse, working towards an Irish society where children are safe from sexual violence. The problem of sexual abuse in Ireland is so shockingly common - it's a sad reality that this affects our loved ones and people in our circles. In my short time as Head of Fundraising I:- Increased annual fundraising and donations by 43% in my first year, while reducing spending by 50%. Increased on-line donations by 473% (yes, 473%) in my first year.- Boosted tax relief from €400 in 2014 to €6,000 in 2015. Well over €10,000 was projected for 2016.- Established 20+ new corporate partnerships, as well as initiating secondary school and college relationships. Secured new funding from 5 grant-making organisations.-Launched regular profit-making e-mail and postal newsletters.- Won award at the 2016 Irish Fundraising Awards for my ‘One Day’ campaign.- Initiated Intern programme and maintained volunteer database.- Grew single Tipperary-based event to national fundraising event, as well as increasing One In Four’s fundraising events to (on average) one per month.

Total Fundraising believed every donor should be inspired, every employee should be successful, and every non-profit should be empowered.Total Fundraising recruited tens of thousands of regular, monthly donors every year through direct recruitment. I have experience in all aspects of this medium, including operations, logistics, training, processing, recruitment and statistical analysis. One of my priorities in Total Fundraising had been to bring our telephone work entirely in-house. I successfully created and built both a Donor Care telephone department as well as a Telephone Fundraising department. (I offer consultancy and advice for those wishing to implement their own in-house operation).I worked since 2010 to develop the public fundraising website Sponsor.ie, using unique concepts to maximise the amount individuals and companies raise for their chosen charity as conveniently as possible. With no registration or subscription fees the aim was to provide a cost-effective and convenient tool for charities to accept donations on-line, with the goal of removing all fees. We introduced competition to the Irish market and eliminated set-up fees for on-line donations in Ireland.
