Hitting milestones on the project plan won't deliver a successful project - unless you've also got your stakeholders engaged and supporting the project.That's the biggest lesson I've learned over the years. I've gone from running management training courses for the NHS (1995) to running projects as part of £1billion plus major change programmes (today). Along the way worked on some major programmes (the integration of Lloyds and HBoS, and the divestment of TSB) and have met (and learned from) some interesting and highly skilled project people.I work in the change function of a large and complex financial services organisation, leading and delivering change projects that reach across the organisation and require the support from multiple stakeholders. My bread and butter are project plans, risk management and change control. The real challenge and reward comes from engaging with people (stakeholders), helping define their needs and helping them overcome their problems so they can deliver the business results they are "on the spike" for.Specialties: Project planning and management, project risk management, stakeholder engagement, implementation and delivery.
