CURRENT ROLEI am a senior NHS laboratory manager supporting laboratory research within the Manchester Clinical Research Facility (MCRF) based at Manchester University Hospital Foundation Trust (MFT), Wythenshawe Site. I manage a team of laboratory staff who support clinical trials, academic studies and sample collection for the Manchester Allergy, Respiratory & Thoracic Surgery Biobank (ManARTS) in the North West Lung Research Centre (NWLRC) at MFT-Wythenshawe. I also work to support staff within the NHS Mycology Reference Centre Diagnositc Laboratory at MFT-Wythenshawe. I sit on the ManARTS steering committee, as a scientist & HTA representative to review and authorise the use of tissue samples for research projects. I am also Deputy Technical Operations Manager & Biological Safety Advisor (BSA) for University of Manchester (UoM) supporting staff at the MFT site, and sit on the UoM / MFT H&S & BIOCOSHH Committees.
