About Simon Thresher
Currently living in Port Macquarie NSW, I am employed full-time by Essential Energy as their Senior Specialist - Commercial Contracts; and part-time by the Royal Australian Navy in a Reserve based Environmental Staff Officer role.The broad and specialist range of experience across these sectors, particularly in the management of contracts saw me approach by Essential Energy to form part of their newly established Contract Management Office in late 2023. This office is the internal SME on contracts and I am responsible for the upskilling and education of contract practitioners across a range of persona's to value add to the business. I have previously worked in the Landscape Design and Construction industry since 2002, and have extensive experience in; Landscape Architecture, Construction & Project Management, and Contract Administration. Diversifying in 2014, I added Environmental Consulting to my career after completion of master’s degree in Environmental Management. This has seen my skillset expand to include; plans of management (Koala and Vegetation), EMS, auditing, whole of site rehabilitation, legislation mapping, and environmental safety.I have excellent computer skills including AutoCAD and the Microsoft suite allowing me to produce professional standard reports and documentation.I am Certified Practising Member of LDI under their Continuing Professional Development programme, and an ongoing member of the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand.
