I contributed as a graphic designer myself, working on print, web and branding projects, as well as getting into writing and producing television commercials and radio campaigns. Over the years we worked with a lush variety of clients including Dickies Clothing, First State Bank, Peterbilt, Sally Beauty, UNT, NCTC, Dallas Arboretum, Colgin Foods, LifeSeasons, Audacity Brew House, Hayes Berry White & Vanzant, Cross Timbers Church, Fannin Tree Farm, US Aviation and many more. We have also been fortunate to support local non-profits with pro bono work, including the Children's Advocacy Center, Denton Holiday Lighting Foundation, Kiwanis / Taste of North Texas, Grace Like Rain, Spirit Horse Ranch and more. As a partner, this is what I was most proud of, in addition to doing great work and creating a great place to work.Rapid growth leading to steady, dependable revenue and stable business model made us an attractive acquisition in 2017.

As an independent graphic designer, I directly served local small businesses, as well as producing work as an outside resource for DFW ad agencies. Clients that I worked with included start-ups, mom-and-pops, DFW-area businesses in just about every industry imaginable and household names such as Nordstrom, Volvo, Sears, Texas Roadhouse, Owens Corning, PGA TOUR, Dollar Rent a Car, Sherwin Williams, General Dynamics, Denny's, United Airlines and Texas de Brazil. Initially focused on branding and marketing, I developed skills and offerings in digital media as well. Through creativity and consistency, I was able to build a reputation of reliability, quality and value. My business and client list grew, attracting Denton-based agency Produce Results to acquire my business, resulting in a merger and ongoing partnership.

As a graphic designer, I worked with a very experienced team and earned trust to handle print and electronic media, communication and branding for a wide variety of clients.Some of the brand names included the Century Club of San Diego / PGA TOUR (2008 and 2009 Buick Invitational tournament marketing), Solar Turbines, HEAD / Penn Racquet Sports, Kodak (Signet Armorlite), Epeius Biotechnologies, Trius Therapeutics, Pacific Sports Warehouse, Senomyx, Isis Pharmaceuticals, Hollis-Eden, and many more. Types of projects ranged from brand identity to large-format outdoor display, to web design, annual reports, product packaging for national retailers, animation storyboard and design, ad campaigns, and a wide variety of specialty print projects. At the beginning of 2009 we moved to my wife's home state of Texas so that she could complete nursing school.

As a graphic designer for Farheap's subsidiary Reaction Design Studio I created brand identity and print collateral design for outside clients as well as sister companies. Beginning at entry level and earning the Lead Designer position in the San Diego location, I worked under several managers and along side many designers in both the San Diego and Orange County studios. Projects ranged from logos to catalogs, postcards, sales collateral and packaging design. New corporate management sought to rebrand Reaction as "Artshop Graphics" and reposition as a value service. Seeking to contribute to a quality-driven rather than volume-drive team, I left Reaction for Alden.

Hired as a drafter without formal training, I was required to learn the job on the fly. I became proficient in AutoCAD within the environment of mechanical design consulting. Our clients included various architecture firms, building owners, municipalities, military, universities and school districts. I gained an incredible startup education by growing with the firm from a 6-month old startup to a market leader with dozens of employees and enormous projects through my 6 year tenure. After graduating from SDSU I was officially offered the position of Mechanical Designer, for which I had been learning and performing duties the previous 2 years, and I had a difficult life choice to make. DEC was an amazing place to work, and engineering is a fantastic field - but graphic design is in my DNA. Becoming an engineer made business sense, but becoming a graphic designer made soul sense, and so I chose to make a career change.

Oomph Graphics was a boutique design shop where I worked underneath Yvonne Perez-Emerson developing branding, print design, layout and production projects for a wide variety of local brands. Clients included B2B, small businesses, retail and events. I extended the length of the unpaid internship 2 months beyond the semester in order to gain more hands-on experience. Years later Yvonne relocated to Portland, Oregon, and has seen tremendous success and notoriety.
