Graduated in applied mathematics with more than 25 years of experience in private, public and nongovernmental sectors as a GI Expert, project manager and consultant in the fields of information technology, geographic information, education and European funds and grants on projects worldwide, where link together partners from the business, government and research community. He's been a leading member of the team supporting the setting up of national spatial data infrastructure in Slovenia. He's been working in business consulting, particularly with start-ups and on platforms supporting start-ups. He's been a Secretary General of EUROGI (European Umbrella Organisation for Geographic Information) and has been active in the Danube Civil Society Forum advocating Open Government principles. He's chairing the technical committee for GI at the national standardisation body and has been involved in the international standardisation organisation ISO. Recently he's been an advisor to the European Commission's Joint Research Centre on interoperability of public services in Europe, offering expertise and support to project management on several projects under the ISA, ISA² and Interoperable Europe programmes with an emphasis on bringing together, building and engaging with communities involved on the offer and demand side of digital public services.
