Simon Ward is an entrepreneur who has worked in the travel industry for the past thirty years.In 1996 he launched TravelPlus Magazine which quickly established a loyal readership of frequent travellers. In 2005 TravelPlus was recognised as the Best Consumer Publication of the year covering Business Travel. Two years on and TravelPlus was the first European travel publication to adopt an online page turning format.In 2009 Simon founded The TravelPlus Airline Amenity Bag Awards then following industry feedback in 2013 he relocated the Awards ceremony from London to Hamburg sitting alongside WTCE.Renamed the TravelPlus Airline Amenity Awards, they remain the only independent industry event celebrating the design excellence of the cherished Amenity Kit, Sleeper suit and bedding, judged by those whose opinion really counts, the passengers! Today the Awards are recognised as the “standard bearer for the industry”.In 2011 Simon published the TravelPlus Showcase, an annual hardback publication that provides an unprecedented insight into that year’s global onboard passenger amenities. This publication is viewed by global airlines as a must have reference book.Simon then launched Amenities Magazine in 2016, his vision was to inform and educate the industry providing unique and innovative features whilst creating provocative content and a trusted resource for onboard passenger amenities.Simon is recognised as a “leading authority” regally providing editorial comment and opinion on onboard passenger comfort, wellness and amenities.
