Het De Bono Expertisecentrum is het centrum voor innovatie en creativiteit van het Koning Willem I College. Het centrum initieert, verspreidt en ontwikkelt het gedachtegoed op het gebied van creatief, kritisch en metacognitief denken gericht op opleiden en persoonlijke ontwikkeling. Het centrum richt zich vooral op het ontwikkelen van denkvaardigheden. Een manier die leidt tot het verkennen van ideeën, het scheppen van mogelijkheden en die kijkt naar meerdere juiste antwoorden in plaats van alleen naar het ene juiste antwoord.Het De Bono Expertisecentrum geeft daar o.a. vorm aan door de implementatie van het nieuwe vak denkvaardigheden als een vast onderdeel in de curricula van het Koning Willem I College. Daarbij is een prominente plaats ingeruimd voor toegepaste creativiteit. Het Expertisecentrum verzorgt trainingen en opleidingen voor de medewerkers – in het bijzonder docenten – en faciliteert bijeenkomsten.
