As Recruitment Programmes & Outreach Advisor at Penguin Random House UK, I lead the delivery of key outreach and training programmes, including The Scheme and our Summer Internships, to attract and recruit top talent for our hard-to-hire areas. I manage the entire recruitment process, from planning and selection to execution and conversion, ensuring a smooth candidate experience.Collaborating closely with business stakeholders, I ensure alignment with Penguin’s employer brand and recruitment goals. I oversee the screening, shortlisting, feedback and offer processes, and work alongside Learning and Development to support new starters.I also coordinate outreach events like Build a Book and represent Penguin at external recruitment fairs. Partnering with the Employer Brand Manager, I help market our programmes across social media and other platforms. Through data-driven insights, I continually optimise our recruitment efforts to meet both business and diversity goals.

As Student Engagement Coordinator, I orchestrated the delivery of Cambridge Zero's portfolio of student engagement programs. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, I worked to ensure that all University of Cambridge students are able to access the essential knowledge and skills for a zero-carbon world. A highlight of my role was spearheading the recruitment and delivery of the Future Leaders Programme, a transformative summer internship initiative for undergraduate students pursuing careers in climate and sustainability. Additionally, I was an integral part of the ActNowFilm team, contributing to the production of the third ActNowFilm that premiered at COP28, featuring climate experts and young activists including Christiana Figueres, Prof Saleemul Huq and Mary Robinson. This role allowed me to combine my passion for sustainability with effective leadership and organisation, influencing positive change within the academic community.

As the Vice President Community at the Edinburgh University Students' Association, I successfully represented the interests of over 45,000 students during the 2021/2022 academic year. I ran and won a dynamic social media election campaign during the COVID-19 pandemic to be elected to the position over eight other candidates. In this multifaceted role, I undertook responsibilities spanning consultation, campaigning, project management, events planning, and community support. I fostered strong relationships with senior staff and stakeholders, including the Vice Chancellor, Heads of Accommodation, and the Director of Social Responsibility and Sustainability. My active participation in the University's delegation at COP26 in Glasgow and numerous public speaking engagements underscore my commitment to sustainability and community advocacy. Serving on various senior boards, I actively contributed to strategic decisions, and as a Trustee Board member, I played a key role in advocating for diverse student communities and driving positive change.

As a PALS Leader for Sustainable Development at the University of Edinburgh, I planned and ran peer learning sessions, delivering presentations, stimulating discussions, and answering questions for groups of 5-35 students. In my third year at university I served as the coordinator of the scheme, leading a team of four leaders, and founded the Families Scheme in the Sustainable Development degree program to support incoming first years during the uncertain times of COVID-19.

Working on a zero-hours contract, I served customers, handled money, restocked shelves, and engaged in food and drink preparation in EUSA shops and the wrap bar. This role enhanced my sense of responsibility in the workplace and further developed my ability to work well with a team to achieve sales and other objectives.
