37+ years of experience in software/system research, design, and development. Experienced with a broad range of technical activities, including COTS-intensive system design and development, IR&D, studies, HMI design and usability, prototyping, proposal development, and program development from system architecture and requirements definition through system level integration and test. Most recent assignments within the Analytics Technology Center have focused on research and development in the areas of large-scale data representation and analysis, linguistic analysis (particularly foreign languages), information extraction, information visualization and presentation, and human-machine usability.Recent research projects:• User-centric analytics – a project intended to double the analytic potential of the average knowledge worker by developing “analytic multipliers” to target common barriers and obstacles encountered during the analytic process.• Open source/multimedia monitoring – a project to create a framework and services that will support the capture all forms of unstructured data (speech and text) and extract actionable information that can be used to support automated analytics.• Various applied knowledge analytics, including social network analysis using social network data, cyber tracking, airline passenger risk assessment using both a statistical model-based risk assessment built from passenger biographical data and histories trends as well as a pattern-based risk assessment using defined patterns of interest against biographical and relationship data, and advanced threat detection that applied pattern matching analysis against academic researchers, their topics of interest, and their collaboration relationships.• Research projects evaluating and developing techniques for computational and visual analytics, text and multimedia analytics, and data fusion
