Alexa Smarthome Dash Replenishment: ● Automated a manual process of onboarding and validating Amazon 3rdparty dash devices and their sensor configurations to our Amazon Dash Replenishment service.● Designed and implemented Coral APIs in Java and a validation library that handled the complexity of mapping several sensor properties to their respective device categories. These APIs are now live across the Dash Replenishment service WW and have reduced the runtime exceptions by 70% while saving 5-10 dev hours per week for on-call.Alexa Smarthome Product Data Service: ● Designed and implemented Coral APIs in Java that updated and queried bulk ASIN inventory information stored across multiple databases.● The APIs were optimized to query the ASIN catalog big data with low latency using batch processing while also handling data discrepancies amongst the various DBs.● This functionality empowered PMs and on-call engineers to query, visualize, and update relevant ASIN information in bulk in 50% lesser time (compared to doing it by single asin) through GUI.

● Implemented CRON jobs(Python) which were responsible for copying real-time cloud availability data from Dynamodb(NoSQL) spread across multiple regions to a single AWS Redshift Clusters(MySQL) in one specific region● This required dealing with complexities around assuming IAM roles and data duplication while maintaining data consistency during the entire operation.Implemented a Data transformation layer(Python) which transformed this data before being copied from DynamoDB(NoSQL) to AWS Redshift Clusters(MySQL) while adhering to data compliances of different regions(like GDPR, CCPA, etc).● This gave engineers, PMs, and SDMs the capability to query the cloud availability data on different regions to generate insights on improving the redshift cloud availability SLA, which was otherwise not possible due to data being spread across several AWS regions in DynamoDB.
