About Simran Lamba
I am a provisionally registered counsellor with NZAC, and also registered under ACC to provide therapy under Sensitive Claims which gives me the opportunity to work with survivors of Sexual Harm. I am client centred in my practice and practicing the skills of empathy, congruence and being non-judgmental with the clients is integral to my work with them. I aim to work collaboratively with the clients and try to ensure my best to provide a safe space for them by practicing ethically, and maintaining confidentially. Having lived in various countries, my passion lies in working with people from different backgrounds, and being culturally inclusive in my practice. I am pluralistic in my approach and believe every individual is unique, and hence, what may work for one person may not necessarily work for another. Areas of passion for me are Trauma and Grief and Loss. I work on brief interventions as well as long term with clients, and have a sound understanding of evidence based therapy models including CBT.
