I am a Howard Hughes Med-Into-Grad Scholar and CPRIT fellow pursuing my pre-doctoral training in the laboratory of Dr. Brendan Lee in the Molecular and Human Genetics Department. I am focusing on three diverse translational projects: • Understanding and treating liver failure in patients with urea cycle disorders. This study could eliminate the need for liver transplantation in patients with advanced disease• Investigating the role of nitric oxide in traumatic brain injury • Determining novel genetic drivers of osteosarcoma to better understand pathways involved in cancer development and progression.

• Co-founded and established an independent non-profit consulting club to educate advanced degree trainees on a career in management consulting• Managed 4 divisions (external relations, education, finance & operations and consulting agency) and a team of 8 officers • Grew the club to to ~400 active members and 90+ paid members• Raised $4250 to host the first Annual Greater Houston Consulting Case Competition• Established a volunteer consulting agency that provides due diligence and consulting services to local start-ups and technology transfer offices• Served as Engagement Manager for the consulting agency's first case engagement. • Member of advisory board of Enventure, a Houston based non-profit aimed at building the life science entrepreneurial community in Houston. • Conceptualized and designed the BioVenutres course, a 10-week hands-on technology commercialization class taught by industry experts• Co-ordinated with Texas Medical Center institutions and raised $10,000 to make course accessible to 12,000+ trainees• Two successful offerings of the class led to the formation of 4 life science start-ups in Houston• Continue to advise life science entrepreneurs and connect them with resources needed for sustenance and growth of their start-up companies• Serve as Engagement Manager leading a team of 4 PhDs on a project for a Houston-based life science start-up company

Selected by Keck Graduate Institute and American Society of Cell Biology (ASCB) for highly competitive "Managing Science in the Biotech Industry Fellowship" - awarded to top 7% candidates from a highly competitive pool of 600 applicants. This 2-week fellowship covered detailed workshops on the biotech industry and professional and career development workshops including:• Analyzing 8 Harvard Business Review Case Studies on the Biotech Industry• Accounting and Finance Basics• Product Commercialization and Business Development• Bioscience Business Models and Strategy• Presentation skills workshop• Group consulting project - evaluating the commercialization strategy for a pancreatic cancer diagnostic test.

• Investigated the effect of glutamine deprivation on inflammatory breast cancer cell lines. • Developed assays to study the adaptability of glutamine independent tumorigenic cells and evaluated them for their tumor-initiation potential both in vitro and in vivo. • Performed studies to understand the metabolic reprogramming and alterations in these glutamine-independent cells that contributed to their chemoresistant properties and tumor-initiating potential.• Presented research at the 6th Annual Academic Surgical Congress at Huntington Beach, California

• Investigated the effect of hyperglycemia and drug metformin on pre-malignant breast epithelial cells. • Studied expression of proteins related to Human Endogenous Retroviruses in various cancer cell lines. • Conducted experiments to study effect of Folate and Vitamin D on TGF Beta protein
