I plan to work with urban waste management challenges during this internship, focusing on innovative solutions. 3Drivers, a leading company in this field, offers a unique opportunity to engage with real-world challenges, cutting-edge thinking, and approaches.

Mercury toxicokinetics in saltmarsh plants.This project will study the uptake, distribution, accumulation and elimination of Hg(lI) in a saltmarsh plant species Halimione portulacoides. Two seasons will be considered (W/S) and the exposure experiments will be done under current environmentalconditions and by simulating a future scenario.A16.1: Long-term Hg exposure experiment with winter plants; A16.2: Short-term Hg exposure withsummer plants; A16.3: Long-term Hg exposure experiment with summer plants. A16.4 Data analysis, dissemination and Poster Pitch of the main results. The main deliverables from the WP16 are: Datacompilation and analysis ofall thetotal Hg quantifications inal the Hg exposure experiments. Evaluatethe effect of plant activity considering both seasons and photoperiod conditions ni currentenvironmental conditions and simulating future change scenarios. The distribution and accumulationof Hg(lI) in Hp plant will be clarified upon waterborne exposure of the root area, as well as the Hgtranslocationfromroots to the aerialpartsof the plants. Also, the extent of Hg release asHg0 by theleavest o the atmosphere will be estimated. The impact of future change scenariosonthese processeswill be also addressed. Presentation of the results obtained concerning the determinations and the clarifications made in this work.

Summer internship integrated into the Environment Business Unit.During this one-and-a-half month, I had the privilege to enroll in this summer internship with a wonderful, helpful, and stimulating team. I learned a lot about new subjects and I was introduced to a whole new level of environmental engineering that I never expected I would love. It was a true challenge!My main role was to help the production team with many different kinds of tasks. I was introduced to a more advanced level of geographic information system which allowed me to improve my QGis skills. I also helped to prepare environmental impact assessments, also had my first contact with environmental impact declarations and many other important documents. I was also asked to prepare a formation about RJAIA (the juridical diploma that regulates environmental evaluation in Portugal) and had the pleasure to present the final work to my colleagues. Thank to Quadrante I could have my first contact with big projects, in Portugal and worldwide.I'm glad I had the chance to meet this wonderful team that made my summer a whole new experience that brought me extra motivation for my master's degree.
