Sina Sadeghpour received a MSc. degree in Electronics and Integrated Circuit in 2015 from University of Leuven (KU Leuven), where he got his PhD in the field of Micro-Electromechanical Systems (MEMS) in 2020. In the same year, he received an innovation mandate grant from KU Leuven, by which he is continuing as a post-doc towards the development of the next generation piezoelectric micromachined ultrasound transducers (pMUTs) for medical imaging applications. In this project, he works on all aspects of the project, such as frontend electronics, FPGA programming, transducer design and fabrication, PCB design, and packaging as a full system. Furthermore, he won an EU EIC Transition grant towards commercialization of his innovative ultrasound imaging systems.Growing AlN and PZT piezoelectric thin films by PVD, ALD, and sol-gel process, respectively, are his expertise. He also designs and fabricates highly efficient, low power, and flexible pMUTs and Macro size ultrasound transducers for underwater applications. He has worked in the cleanrooms of KU Leuven, Imec, and Université catholique de Louvain.
