Project Technical Support to the Ilbank PMU for the implementation of FRIT-II Project financed by EU via AFD.Main Project Features: The Project's overall objective is to improve host communities and Syrian Refugees living conditions in the South-East of Turkey regarding access to water and sanitation services. The specific objectives are as follows:(i) Provide access for host communities and Syrians under Temporary Protection (SuTPs) to safely manage drinking water and wastewater services.(ii) Participate in protecting the Region's environment and its freshwater resources under stress due to climate change.(iii) Support the municipalities and SKI's in achieving operational and financial sustainability in water and sanitation services.Positions held: Activities performed: • Review all bidding documents• Review all progress reports prepared by supervisors,• Review technical documents such as BoQ, TS, GCC, ToRs to check consistency and advice for revision• Carry out a site visit to control the progress• Support PMU for monitoring and evaluation• Keep records and files in compliance with AFD & EU requirements • To give input for Progress Reports• Support the ILBANK Team for Contract Management including claim, the extension of time, defect notification

Construction of Water Supply System in Chiatura.Chiatura Municipality is located in western Georgia, in the basin of the Kvirila River; it covers a part of Imereti highland. Chiatura town represents the administrative centre of the municipality, which has a total area of 542 km2.The existing water supply system of Chiatura is in poor condition, with only minor maintenance and replacement of pipes and electromechanical installations since its construction more than 50 years ago. Water supply for Chiatura is currently provided from five different sources, but the raw water is of poor quality.Work under the contract 'Construction of Water Supply System in Chiatura' comprises rehabilitation and expansion of the water supply network in the towns of Chiatura and Navardzeti, facilitated by the provision of an entirely new water supply source, with wells in the area of Sachkhere, along with construction of a new reservoir and disinfection station near the wellfield. Construction of a new transmission line will carry water from Sachkhere to Bisi Reservoir in Chiatura, with a branch to Sachkhere. Also included are the rehabilitation of existing reservoirs and pumping stations, including the main Central Pumping Station (CPS) in Chiatura, along with replacement of network pipelines and house connections.
