As a Board member, my role included contibuting to the long term strategies, plans and insuring that the teams, structures and processes implemented are inline with these strategies. Helping the healthy growth via delivering sound P/L targets, contributing to development of people and representing the company on commercial platfroms were my daily routine duties. As an active member of governance groups of trading, store opennings and people development, I have attended, facilitated regular meetings to achieve the plans.

As the Marketing Director, I have attended Tesco Marketing academy in UK and by combining the country local needs and the best practices of international Tesco know how, outlined a suitable marketing strategy of the company. As the customer voice in the company board, implementing, gathering and data mining of customer insight, setting and monitoring the company price policy, planning achieveable and challanging trade plans, understanding, reflecting and responding to local needs and planning, executing the necessary communication tools according to the findings and strategy were my main duties. Meeting the targets of sales and marketing budgets, developing the people were also my major responsibilities.

Assistant General Manager in charge of production. 1999-2001 In this flexible packaging company, I ran a team of 250 people producing paper and plastic packaging materials. Team consisted of production operation, production scheduling, quality assurance, purchasing and warehousing. With new processes, systems, materials and very dedicated team, we achieved % 15 additional production capacity in 2 years, without any new resource or capital. Baran ambalaj obtained its ISO 9001 certificate in 2001 with 0 minor/major defect in its first attempt. ( first in Turkey by Bureau Veritas)

Factory Manager – 1999 Trade Manager – 1998 Export Manager – 1997Part of the Etap Holding and one of the major plastic crates and garden furniture manufacturer. With the team of 450 people, we ran a injection moulding production facility in three shifts with very high seasonal impact. Planning of scheduling, purchasing of raw materials and exports with this very high/low seasonal product group required high calibre processes and systems. Implementation of SAP systems and obtaining of ISO 9001 standarts helped us to achieve the targets.During my 3 years in Etap Plastik A.Ş., I planned, facilitated and executed three major projects. First was the implementation of SAP, other two, which were joint venture set ups with German crate producer Scholler and Israel’s biggest garden furniture producer Keter, involved major feasibility studies and business cases.

Export Specialist – Plastics, Chemicals, Paints, Inks 1993-1997 Acquinted with all major foreign trade principles and processes, I have been involved in exporting chemicals, paints to Middle East, North Africa and transit/re-export of solvents to Middle East, with the export company of Yaşar Holding. I was part of the very first “Talent Pool” development program of Yaşar Holding. With other 60 chosen candidates, I have completed numerous seminars and courses on management, leadership and business processes. In the last year of my assignment, I was the project leader in a small team “Business Development Project”, which mainly concentrated on newly formed Turkic Republics with potential. The team involved in producing many country and product files to help Holding board on further developments.
