As the Director of Operations, I was globally responsible for establishing and maintaining end-to-end processes of SAP Research which consisted of 18 research centers around the globe. Managed 40M EUR annual research budget.Developed strategy to provide consistent approaches and best practices among research projects, which included project management infrastructure, management of IP, patents, contractual processes and financial planning & control. Supported SAP Research management in assessing operational risks and developed risk assessment guidelines for publicly funded projects. Oversaw the Project Management Office (PMO), an organization within SAP Research that managed European Commission and other EMEA nationally sponsored projects (60M EUR) as well as developed project management and control methods/tools for the research programs.PMO team implemented procedures to ensure that all the cost claims are in compliance with EU and other national funding agency financial guidelines. With his PMO team, closely worked with European Commission Audit, Legal, and Finance departments, thus successfully managed financial risks/audits and acquisition of cost claim certifications.

On behalf of SAP Research, managed initial business development with strategic Pervasive Computing partners including RFID technology providers. Negotiated partnership contracts.Developed and managed strategic business relationships and alliances with third party software providers to extend capabilities of SAP’s software products. This included, negotiating and execution of reseller and OEM contracts as well as joint development projects.
