Nautilus Hyosung America (NHA) is a leading ATM manufacturer and provider of self service solutions in hardware, software, and banking services. • Helped develop custom applications in a faster, more nimble way than our competition allowing the company to break into several Top 10 US banks for the first time. • Worked with a major client to develop Amazon web API integration, allowing an ATM to directly deposit cash funds into a customer’s Amazon account. • Developed a custom authentication scheme allowing a bank customer with no card to use an ATM with a passcode sent to their mobile phone. • Integrated SymXchange web API into ATM application, allowing direct access into credit unions’ core database, bypassing traditional NDC interface. Not only did this save money for the credit unions on interchange fees, it also allowed access to all the customer’s account information, allowing newer transactions like Split Deposits, alternative authentication schemes that don’t rely on Card and PIN (e.g. Account Number and SSN), and more detailed balance information (e.g. Loan Payment Due Date). • Created Hyosung Interface Protocol (HIP), an NDC-based standardized messaging protocol that allowed the company to reduce internal development costs yet still expand into new revenue-generating opportunities with new processors. • Integrated ATM application with a custom Banking Teller system allowing brand new capabilities including: ◦ video conferencing (Skype or Peer2Peer) from an ATM to a teller workstation. ◦ teller approval being required for risky transactions. ◦ teller remotely viewing everything on the customer’s screen to help assist them. ◦ teller taking complete control over the ATM and performing the transaction themselves. • Lead architect of company’s next generation Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) application.

Worked closely with customer and their clients to design, architect, and develop new solutions; including Bill Payment, Check Cashing, and Money Transfer solutions. • Designed and developed multi-threaded GUI based application (C#) to build, manage, and configure all North American ATM applications. Used Virtualization technology and InstallShield automation interface to create MSIs and dynamically generate scripts to install software in an unattended environment. • Involved in a multi-year project to migrate major application from one based on COM (VB6 and C++) to C#. Architected how to configure one common application to meet many different customer requirements, installation and maintenance update strategies, and automated application configuration based on unique hardware devices. • Took the lead in the architecture of a new component model for all Professional Services developed software. Led to a vastly improved Source Code Management system, reduced bottlenecks, increased efficiency, and created a solid foundation for future process improvements. • Played a leading role in process improvements identifying issues and weaknesses in current processes. Instrumental in the creation of a Change Control Board resulting in improved management and prioritization of defects and RFCs. • Winner of Professional Services Consulting Excellence Award.

Strategic Software Solutions provided software design and development services in a range of demanding environments including manufacturing and financial sectors. • Designed, documented, and coded a banking software product sold worldwide. Used to load advertising campaigns onto ATMs, replacing screen definitions from a central server so ATM owners could create locally targeted campaigns. This empowered clients, especially smaller ones, to generate revenue on their own. • Enhanced banking software to allow biometric authentication of customers using cutting-edge iris scanning technology. • Became an Internal Quality Auditor, helping the company achieve TickIT, BSI, and ISO 9001 certification. Played a leading role in creating and updating the Quality Manual, which included writing the company’s coding conventions used by all software developers. • Requested the additional role of Network Administrator and in overtime hours became responsible for purchasing computers and network equipment, hardware repairs, server maintenance, backups, and all software licensing. • Managed company’s Exchange Server email and Source Code Management (SCM) systems.
